Q: How do I prepare an AutoCAD file for printing?

A: These are the instructions for creating plotfiles or pdfs from .dwg files, from AutoCAD 2000 or 2004.

  1. Under file go to Plotter Manager
  2. Double click on ADD-A-PLOTTER-WIZARD
  3. At INTRODUCTION PAGE---click NEXT
  4. Begin—Check Plotter on my computer. NEXT
  5. Plotter Model—Manufacturer- HEWLETT-PACKARD
  6. Choose Model – DESIGNJET HP
    1. 755 CM C3198B---for AutoCAD 2004
    2. 650C C2859B-----for AutoCAD 2000
  7. DRIVER INFORMATION BOX pops up—click CONTINUE
  8. Import pcp box---DO NOTHING CLICK—CONTINUE
  9. PORTS – SELECT-PLOT TO FILE—NEXT
  10. PLOTTER NAME- DESIGNJET (755CM C3198B) OR (650C C2859B)
  11. CLICK FINISH
  12. PLOTTER IS LOADED

TIPS FOR PLOTTING DIALOG BOX

  1. Select Plotter Model, be sure the plot to file box is checked.
  2. Select correct page size and scale
  3. Center drawing
  4. Make sure the correct CTB file is displayed
  5. Select the drawing with a WINDOW
  6. Select destination folder for the PLT files- one you can easily locate for attaching to email or disk or flash drive.

For PDF files follow the procedure except go to Adobe and

choose the driver for post script level 2 or higher.

Q: Do you have a large document scanner?

A: We have two, a scanner for up to 36” wide black and white. We can provide tif or pdf files . Also a 50” color scanner that will scan to tif, jpg, pdf at 100 to 400 dpi.
